Google New York General Contractors. Tell me what you see.  To a homeowner looking to get some work done in their home, you’ll probably get a comment of “where do I start”. To a General Contractor looking to stay competitive, and build his or her business, you’ll probably get a comment of “how do I attract more business to my site, and ultimately to my company.”

When you search for a General Contractor in the New York City area, on the World Wide Web, you’ll get over 4 million results. How does anyone find what they are looking for in this enormous sea of information?

Maybe you’ll speak with one of your friends or neighbors who just renovated their kitchen or bathroom. They can surely tell you about their experience. Unfortunately, if you speak with 10 homeowners who have done work in their homes, chances are that half of them will tell you that they did not have a good experience. “It took too long”, “they did not communicate with us”, “the quality of their work was not very good”, and on and on, and on.

What’s the difference between choosing ABC General Contractors over XYZ General Contractors? After all, toilets, a tub, a door, a cabinet, are all just pieces of the construction puzzle; for the most part.

The biggest and most noticeable difference between companies is usually the people that make up the organization. Everyone, from the Office or Showroom Coordinator who first answers the phone, to the men or women who arrive on your site to begin work, or the project manager and companies owners who are tracking the progress, and making sure things are moving along and milestones and expectations are being met. That is the difference.

Without a talented, well organized, dedicated, group of people enthusiastic about completing your project on time, and within budget, communicating upcoming events, and keeping the proverbial ball rolling along, all you’ve got is a collection of trades people (electricians, plumbers, carpenters, painters, etc.) coming in and out of your home with no direction.

A successful project does not just happen, it is planned. “If you fail to plan, plan to fail”.
